Seafood Process Application

Or-Tec was commisioned by a conglomerate of seafood producers in 1999 to provide a solution to the ongoing water polution problems they were experiencing with the several processing plants in the local area. Or-Tec, in cooperation with other environmental companies designed a treatment process based on a series of on-site pilot studies. The resulting wastewater treatment facility treats uses coarse screening, flotation, belt press dewatering and ozonation to treat the waste from the local fisheries industry.

Or-Tec HF Flotation System

The Or-Tec HF Flotation System is a self contained unit with all the equipment necessary for operation.

This includes the air entrained pump, chemical dosing system, pH correction, top and bottom skimming and sludge removal, all wired and piped.

Or-Tec's equipment for the project consisted of a HF150 CAF Flotation Tank and a Mk II 1000 Dewatering Belt Press System.

The HF150 Flotation System included chemical and coagulant dosing, and pH monitoring and correction. Capacities and reduction were as follows:

Duty: 500 gpm
Loadings:
COD: 3,200 mg/L
TSS: 270 mg/L

Reductions:
COD: 85%
TSS: 75%

The Or-Tec Mk II 1000 Belt Press System is a skid mounted, turnkey system manufactured entirely from stainless steel. It features on-board polymer dosing and the a newly designed automatic belt tracking system. Capacities and reduction were as follows:

Duty: 250 lbs dry solids hr

Inlet solids concentration: 5%
Final cake concentration: 25%

The Or-Tec MkII 1000 Belt Press System dewaters the skimmings from the flotation system.
